Last Blog
Since this is the last blog required for the assignment, I’ve decided to go ahead and delete this entire blog once it has been graded. I have no use for a blog, however I can see how they may be useful in the future. Business, marketing, and networking can all utilize blogging, while it can also be used for sharing ideas or interests. When I check back on a blog it never feels like it did when I was writing it. I based most of them off my current emotions because I couldn’t think of anything good to blog about, so when I checked back my state of mind would always be different. I was thinking too much about blogging something, rather than being patient for my mind to cross something that’s worth posting. I’m positive I will blog again; it’s like a free resource that can be used with anything. Of course it’s only as useful as you make it, and it depends on how you’re trying to use it to help you. Creating and posting the blog seems easy enough but the hard part seems generating traffic through it. I’ll look up how to do that later on.

Religion and marriage
One more rant on religion (these are all kind of related). Someone I know, who was in the Navy, had been married to this woman, and they had two kids together. She ended up having an affair, divorced him, and took the kids away, leaving him to pay a ridiculous amount in child support. She married the man she had the affair with who was a pasture in the Navy (I think he was a Lutheran but I’m not too sure). Before the divorce even occurred he used his position to send her husband to another location, away from his wife and kids. Now the father of the kids wanted to have joint custody but of course the women fought for and won full custody, which is why he has to pay so much in child support. I’m not too sure but to me this guy doesn’t sound religious at all, otherwise he wouldn’t have done this. This is one of the biggest sins in the book, unless Lutherans are ok with coveting another’s spouse. The only thing that digs under my skin about this situation is we have here someone who claims one way of life and then contradicts it with his actions. He still practices his religion putting out a front that he is a chaste and virtuous individual, and the good people around him have no idea of this. I’m so sick of people saying how sacred marriage is when shit like this happens all the time.

Another rant on religion
This is just another rant on religion. I was thinking about how the Catholic Church forbids the use of birth control and at the same time abortions. If you wanted to lower the number of abortions wouldn’t it make sense to encourage the use of birth control? There’s power in numbers, and the church has been well-aware of this for a long time. It’s almost as if they’re competing with other religions, trying to come out at top with the most followers. Unfortunately many problems stem from over-populating as history shows. Even in poverty-stricken areas they still promote reproduction, so do they even care about the conditions of these people? Do they care more about how many people they save or about how many they influence? To me it seems like another business or political party, and it’s pretty clever how they structured it. Basically they provide a service which we cannot see or touch; we can’t prove its existence or inexistence. It’s human nature to fear death and what’s after, so they simply sell us what we want to hear. I’m not saying everyone who works with the church is bad, maybe naive, but some of the things they preach will do more harm than good.

Do good people make religion, or does religion make good people?
My mom, being from the Philippines, was raised Catholic. Of course the same was for my brother and I, although I’m not sure how strong his beliefs really are. The Catholic Church, like many other religions, is full of contradictions. This isn’t an atheist blog or anything like that; it’s just a simple analysis. Basically my mom and I got into a talk about it and it lead to her pretty much saying that if you don’t accept Jesus into your heart you won’t get into heaven. This actually sounds insane to me. So Jews and Muslims, along with Christianity, all have their roots from the Old Testament. In other words, they all believe in the same god. Now church has taught me that god is all loving and he’s all about forgiveness and junk, so why would this be the case? Sounds like to me if you live a descent, honest life God wouldn’t just cast you in to the eternal lake of fire. Here’s a little scenario I thought about: it starts with two people. The first person, having never heard of the Bible or Jesus for that matter, chooses to live a good life because it’s the right thing to do. He treats others like he wants to be treated and is always fair, maybe even generous at times. The second person lies and cheats to get what he wants. He has not yet heard about Jesus either, and he doesn’t care how he treats people to get what he wants. Then someone tells him about the Bible; how there’s an all-knowing God watching us all. He learns how there are one of two afterlife’s we will be sent, depending on how we choose to live, so he wises up. He decides to live a good life and truly lets Jesus into his heart. So when they both pass away does the second go to Heaven while the first, having never heard of Jesus or God while still living a good life, go to Hell?

They took our jobs!!
It sucks not having a job right now. My step dad has already moved to Japan and my mom leaves to be with him in May. My seasonal job at Eternal is awesome but it hasn’t helped me, the fall seems to be the time most employers are hiring and that’s when I work. I’m trying to better myself through school but employers don’t seem to see that. I guess to them it just means less flexibility with my hours, so they have more of an incentive to hire someone else. I’m not going sit here and blame my personal troubles on the economy, but at the same time it sucks competing for jobs with people who are my parents’ age. Employers can be very picky right now with how many applicants are out there. I’ve been wondering for a while if my 4 years of working at a board shop makes me look bad, like they can already assume I’m some lazy stoner punk. I’ve had a few more jobs before I was 18 and I’ve never been fired from any of them, but I didn’t keep any of them that long either. I hate how gaps between working looks bad too because if you don’t have a job right now it’s inevitable that your going to have one for a while. My gaps are legitimate too: I blew out my knee, I have a seasonal job, and I’m a full time student who lives with his parents. There were a few times when I just quit, and I do regret burning my bridges, but even those reasons couldn’t make me look bad. I had to quit as a snowboard instructor at Mt. Rose because I wasn’t getting enough hours, I quit at Quiznos because my manager was playing “favoritism” with her niece (they were both lazy pieces of shit), and I had to quit the car wash because the exposure to all the dust and dirt was making me sick (I used to have asthma). Ok that’s the end of my blog just felt like bitching some more, I’m already over it.

Hait Blog
Why are we still helping Haiti? I’m sorry I feel bad for the kids and all those suffering, but for the government to arrest, charge, and sentence our Americans for being a little ignorant is outrageous. Why haven’t we gotten them back yet? Dude were America, I’m not going to get into all the super pro-America jumbo, but we can seriously just go in there and take them back. What’s Haiti going to do about it? If they got beef we can just bomb the shit out of their already devastated country. I understand the Americans were being naive, and a little ignorant like most of us are, but this is no reason to keep them prisoners for life. This just shows how corrupt their government is, and why their country is so poor. Stop giving money to Haiti! Let them solve their own problems, all their lack of building codes and birth control lead to all this anyways. If the Catholic Church wasn’t so adamant about creating more Christians, their problems would be much less severe. Not only would they have less orphans being abandoned but they’d have more resources to go around. I’m an asshole for saying this but don’t donate any more of your money to Haiti, and if you’re going out of your way to adopt one of these kids you’re an asshole too. We got plenty of kids of our own that need adopting.

The Tea Party Movement is a Waste
The tea party movement makes the right look bad; it does a better job than the right itself. Don’t get me wrong I can agree with some conservative views, but some of the politicians in the right don’t make it seem so appealing (as do some lefties too). So back to the tea party movement which is this new ultra-conservative fad between mostly whites born between the “traditionalist” and “baby-boomer” generations. Many are also people who’ve been hit especially hard by this recession, and I can’t really blame them being upset. At the same time spreading hate- and fear-mongering towards the government is not going to solve anything. These people offer no solutions to any of the problems, just their solutions; which consists of shrinking government and getting rid of Obama. They act like martial law is going to take effect and the government’s going to “get us”, and that America is being taken away from them. I’m positive the majority of us are feeling the strain of the economy, but this isn’t “the end,” as many of them would claim. Obama isn’t out to destroy us, and no one’s going to benefit from us all being broke and out of money. Times are changing, and Obama’s sort of become the symbol of that. I think they’re all scared of change, so maybe that’s why they hate him most. Or maybe they’re all a bunch of old racists. I’m not saying anyone who doesn’t like Obama is a racist, but many of these people have seriously shown themselves to be racists. If they’re not racists, they’re retarded. Oh, and Sarah Palin’s retarded (and she doesn’t own that word either).
